11 New Children’s Books published

 The Bhutan Children’s Book Initiative, a collaborative project of Ministry of Education and Save the Children, has published additional 11 new children’s books in the English and Dzongkha by local authors and illustrators. The books are being provided to all the primary schools in Thimphu and Zhemgang, the two pilot districts for the project.

Save the Children participates in the one-day knock-out basketball tournament

 As the winning team from last year’s one-day knock-out basketball tournament, Save the Children organized and participated in the second one-day knock-out tournament- “Partnership for Development” on 23rd May, 2015 at Royal Thimphu College with participants from 11 International Organizations in the country.

Launch meeting for Comprehensive Disaster Management Project for the Education Sector

  The Comprehensive Disaster Management Project for the Education Sector is an 18 month project funded by DiPECHO. The Principle objective of the project is to make children, schools and communities resilient to the impacts of disasters in Bhutan. The three key result areas of the project are: Result 1: Enhanced DRM coordination and improved integration of DRM concerns and processes within the education sector

Study Visit to Italy

Under the child protection theme, Save the Children, Bhutan Country Office is currently engaged in a project supported by Save the Children, Italy aimed at “Strengthening Child Justice System in Bhutan” for a three year period.
