Bhutan Children's Book Initiative launched its first five books by Bhutanese authors on 21st October 2014

The Secretary of Ministry of Education, Aum Sangay Zam and donors of the Bhutan Children’s Book Initiative (BCBI) Ms. Charlotte Ransom and Mr. Tim Dye launched the first 5 children’s books published under the BCBI project on October 21, 2014.

The programme was attended by senior government officials from the Ministry of Education, dignitaries from international organizations, other agencies and local authors. The authors of the published books read the stories and shared their experiences on writing for children through collaboration with the project.

Additional 5 books will be produced this year and another 10 books by March 2015. The BCBI, Launched in 2014 will establish classroom libraries in 57 primary schools and 7 ECCD centres in Zhemgang and Thimphu during the pilot phase.
