Children Writing for Children

62 school children from grades VI-X, representing 20 schools in Zhemgang, participated in the five day “Children Writing for Children” program organized by Save the Children in collaboration with District Education office, Zhemgang. The program was held from 3– 8 July, 2017 at Zhemgang Central School.

Reaching the children of Zhemgang

 About 115 children from Trong community in Zhemgang participated in the 3rd Winter Youth Programme in Zhemgang Central School. Children from grade IV to XII participated in programmes such as Art, Writing, Photography, Script writing and Film-making, and Fashion Designing using household waste. Besides, the children were also sensitized on disasters risks and how to be safe in school and at home from man-made as well as natural disasters, and on youth-related issues, counseling and peer helping.

Children’s Book Forum

Representatives from a diverse group but with a common objective of promoting ‘reading’ among Bhutanese children, including some children, attended a Children’s Book Forum organized by Save the Children in collaboration with Royal Education Council under Bhutan Children’s Book Initiative (BCBI) on 1st June,2016 at Ariya Hotel in Thimphu.

National ECCD Centre Program Impact Evaluation: Bhutan 2016

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, UNICEF and other national partners, Save the Children completed an impact evaluation of the national ECCD center program. The findings of the study was presented on 27th May, 2016 at Le Meridian, Thimphu, chaired by Director General, Department of School Education, MOE and other stakeholders from private ECCD centers, Corporate, Ministry of Education, DGPC and Paro College of Education.
