Showcase Forum on SKPA 1 Program in Bhutan

A showcase forum on the Sustainability of HIV Services for Key Populations in Asia (SKPA 1) Program was held in Thimphu in collaboration with key partners, the National HIV/Hepatitis & STIs Control Program (NACP) under the Ministry of Health, Pride Bhutan, Lhak-Sam, Chithuen Phendey Association, and Queer Voices of Bhutan. With the SKPA 1 ending in June, the forum was convened to present the activities and programs implemented over the SKPA 1 period, celebrate achievements, and reflect on the lessons. The meeting also introduced the SKPA 2 Program that is expected to commence in July 2022.  

 

The event was graced by wider participation from the Ministry of Health, Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan, Royal Bhutan Police, United Nations Population Fund, National Commission for Women and Children, Bhutan Narcotic Control Agency, RENEW (Respect, Educate, Nurture and Empower Women), Bhutan Country Coordinating Mechanism and Bhutan Health Trust Fund. 

 

The Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations is the principal recipient and Save the Children Bhutan is the sub-recipient of the Global Fund-funded multi-country SKPA Program.
