Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Deputy Response Team Leader - Programmes at Romania Save the Children International office location.
ROLE PURPOSE:
Following the start of the conflict in Ukraine, thousands of people fled to neighbouring countries including Romania which welcomed more than 90 thousand refugees. STC sent in an initial response team to assess needs of children and their families in Romania and is scaling up programmatic response with its main partner Save The Children Romania which have been working with asylum seekers and children for over 20 years and has a strong network with local civil society organization and authority. The progamme include operating safe space for children and mothers in reception and asylum centre, provision of NFI and psychosocial support at border crossing points, support integration of children in formal and informal education system, supporting child protection system when required, providing legal and other counselling support to families in need. SCI intend to implement a cash and voucher programme in Ukraine and neighbouring countries through UCAN project targeting people on the move and settling in Romania.
The Deputy Team Leader - Programmes is the programmes lead, supporting the overall response Team Leader. The post-holder will ensure that humanitarian programmes delivered are to the appropriate scale, scope, quality and accountability expected of Save the Children, and incorporate a child focused lens. He/She may also take on the role of response Team Leader for some aspects of the emergency response. He/She oversees all needs assessment, programme design, capacity analysis or monitoring & evaluation activities and technical expertise resources (team of child protection, Education, Cash and voucher, MEAL, MHPSS, Gender technical advisers). In most circumstances, the postholder will be expected to mentor and/or capacity-build both international and national staff colleagues. The Deputy Team Leader - Programmes will also be expected to play a role in global level technical working groups, working closely with HO technical advisers on organisational strategy, capacity building, policy and advocacy initiatives.
